Fashion and shopping Glasgow has been rated the best place to shop in the UK outside London’s West End, so it is ideal for students with a passion for fashion. Glasgow’s ‘Style Mile’ showcases designer labels and high-street brands, and there is also a great range of independent and vintage shops, cementing the city’s growing global profile as a leading retail, cultural and style centre. Excellent transport links Glasgow Caledonian University is ideally located in the city centre, close to road, rail and bus links as well as all the amenities of a vibrant city. In fact, GCU is ranked first in Scotland for transport links (ISB 2015). Two stations on Glasgow’s metro system and two train stations with links to the rest of the UK are just minutes from the campus, and the city’s bus and coach hub is just across the road.
