STEM Enrichment STEM Enrichment addresses Delaware’s persistent need to motivate and prepare under-represented minorities and girls to pursue a 4-year degree in a STEM-related field and succeed in a STEM career. Annually, STEM Enrichment provides over 220 hours per student of intensive, advanced STEM instruction that builds upon what our students learn in their home schools. Students in the 11th and 12th grades, live on-campus during a 4-week experience at the University of Delaware’s College of Engineering. STEM Enrichment incorporates:  A 6 week summer curriculum;  A school year extension (Oct-May) and STEM enrichment curriculum that takes place on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month;  FIRST Robotics for middle and high school students;  Test Awareness Workshops to familiarize students with test taking techniques and procedures;  College Prep & College Activities Seminars for juniors and seniors led by UD College of Engineering professors and held on-campus;  Peer Counseling & Role Models to prepare younger students for the on-campus activities at the University of Delaware;  Job Readiness Training to ease transition from school to the work environment for senior high school students who will be entering summer employment;  Special events such as tours of partner corporations, cultural events, social outings and more. STEMulate® Change Outreach The STEMulate® Change Outreach Initiative acts as a launch pad for students to increase the likelihood that a child will develop an interest in learning about science, technology, engineering and/or math. Just as importantly, it serves as a gateway to long-term educational and economic opportunity in Delaware. We achieve this by: educate engage excite empower  Providing students ages 9-12 with engaging STEM experiences through problem-based, hands-on learning in a non-traditional classroom setting.  Igniting interest in STEM subjects among students regardless of racial and ethnic backgrounds, income levels or academic abilities.  Demonstrating the relationship between Math, Science, Technology, and English Language Arts through the design and implementation of the curriculum. STEMulate® Change consists of 4-5 week modules designed around relevant “American and Global Icons.” Activities include visual and performing arts, design and building, critical thinking and other activities.
