Sussex Police Prevent and Barnardo’s
attend Bright World’s 2016 Company Conference
Bright World holds a company conference every year when all Head
Office staff and Local Coordinators get together for training, meetings
and company and safeguarding updates.
On the 14th and 15th June 2016, Bright World welcomed experts
and well-known speakers in the industry to share their wealth of
knowledge with us and for the first time, with guests from boarding
schools and agencies.
We were overwhelmed and delighted to be hosting over 50 guests from 22
boarding schools, 10 agencies and some of our important associates from
AEGIS, Study Travel Magazine, ST Alphe Conferences and printing company
Calico at this year’s conference.
This was the perfect opportunity for Bright World to show off our ‘engine
room’, the all-important Safeguarding Department which is rarely in the
spotlight but always working behind the scenes to ensure things run safely
and smoothly.
After a networking drinks reception and lunch, we were joined by guest
speakers Peter Dommett from Sussex Police Prevent, Jennie Bishop
from Barnardo’s Children’s Charity and Faical from DPMC. Peter gave a
fascinating insight into how and why children can be radicalised, what
to look out for and how to report any concerns. Jennie Bishop also gave
an enlightening talk about children who are victims of CSE (Child Sexual
Exploitation) and how to recognise the signs that this might be occurring.
At Bright World,
Safeguarding is at the
forefront of everything we
do and we have had some
wonderful feedback.
We are extremely pleased
to learn that all of our
guests found the event
to be enjoyable and
informative.

Safeguarding and
