Youth Activities www.cityofgreen.org 7 Passport to Fishing Saturday, April 25 and Saturday, August 1 9 a.m. -12 p.m. FREE; for kids 6 – 15 years old with an adult The Passport to Fishing program, sponsored by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife, provides skills, techniques and information that allow any beginning angler to start fishing in their own community. The program consists of four stations 15 to 20 minutes in length: casting, fishing knots and rigging, fish habitat and handling, and local information. The program focuses on hands-on participation and a strong conservation message. First time participants will receive a rod and reel (based upon availability); bait will be provided. Pre-registration is required. Quick Start Archery Wednesdays April 22, July 15 or August 26 Southgate Park 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. 8-15 years old $10/resident; $12/non-resident The Quick Start Archery program is designed for those who may be interested in trying archery or take as an intro to the Youth Archery program. This class is a standalone class separate from the Youth Archery program where students will learn about archery safety, the parts of the bow and arrow, and how to shoot. Youth Archery Program Wednesdays April 29-May 20; July 22-August 12; or September 2-September 23 Southgate Park 5 p.m.-6 p.m. 8-11 years old 6:15 p.m.-7:15 p.m. 12-15 years old $25/resident; $35/non-resident The City is offering three sessions of this four-week archery and marksmanship program. The class will teach proper shooting techniques with an emphasis on safety. All equipment is provided. Quick Start SNAG Golf April 20, July 13 or Aug. 24 Greensburg Park For children ages 5-10 years old $10/resident; $15/non-resident The one-class Quick Start SNAG Golf program is a condensed version of the five-week program designed for those who may be interested in golf and want to try it or for those who do not have the time to attend the full-five week SNAG Golf program. SNAG Golf Program Tuesdays April 21-May 19; July 14-August 11; or August 25-September 22 Greensburg Park 5 p.m.-6 p.m. 6:15 p.m.-7:15 p.m. $50/resident; $60/non-resident The five-week SNAG Golf program uses specially made, age-appropriate equipment so participants can learn how to properly swing a club, where to make contact with the ball, how to aim a ball, and more.
