Why study a two-year masters
at GCU?
The Glasgow School for Business and
Society oers a wide range of two-year
masters courses in our management and
finance subject areas. These exciting new
postgraduate opportunities give you the
opportunity to undertake one of our traditional
one-year masters courses with an additional
element of professional practice taking place
in year two. This will include a paid or unpaid
placement over two trimesters which will
give you the opportunity to develop your
knowledge and professional skills through
an extended work experience in the UK or
elsewhere.
The school is vocationally-focused and
with the many connections with industry,
professional and third sectors, we will fully
prepare you for and support you in finding
your own placement.
What will I study during my
two-year masters?
Year one – you’ll study one of our masters
courses listed on this page, during which time
you’ll learn the academic theory underpinning
your subject, while also gaining practical
experience though real-world applied teaching
and assessment.
Year two – you’ll undertake the Professional
Practice Placement which will include a
portfolio assessment.
