Parenting Matters Spring 17 HIGH RES

The Stickman Trial Exciting Adventures for the Whole Family The Stick Man Trail at Weald Country Park is a fantastic place to visit, with lots of exciting adventures for the whole family to enjoy. The trail was designed by leading natural play specialists Infinite Playgrounds, and brings to life the popular Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s story Stick Man. In the story, Stick Man has many adventures in his desire to return home to his family tree. The permanent trail is approximately 2km in length and consists of a number of climbing frames, slides, swings, Stick Man's family tree and a giant swan's nest. All of the figures from Stick Man are scattered along the trail, with lots of activities and play areas for you to search for. A map is available from the Visitor Centre to help you and your little one find the characters and enjoy all of the activity areas. The trail is located near the Visitors Centre, with easy access to the café and other facilities. At the end of your trip you can relax in one of the many picnic areas in Weald Country Park, or even treat yourself to lunch from the Wigley Bush Café. The Stick Man trail is a great way to continue developing your child’s language and communication skills, as you can discuss your child’s favourite character from the story, or which character you will find next on the trail. Admission is free to The Stick Man play trail, and it is open throughout the year during the Weald Country Park’s opening hours.
