White Elm Petting Farm is a
wonderfully safe and stimulating
environment, perfect for learning
about animals, how they live and
what they eat. The owners are very
friendly and the farmer is
knowledgeable about his animals.
The farm has a variety of animals
including Pygmy Goats, Alpacas,
Sheep, Rheas, Pigs, Goats, Rabbits,
Guinea Pigs, Ducks, Miniature Pony,
Chickens, Geese and Wallabies.
Your child will be able to learn about
different animals, this will support
them with developing their
vocabulary as well as understanding
the world around them. Many of the
animal enclosures have interesting
facts about each animal which you
can share with your child.
Buckets of food are available to
purchase upon entrance to the farm,
you can watch your child as they
learn to care for the animals by
feeding them. The food is suitable for
the majority of the animals so your
child can try feeding a variety of the
animals. White Elm Petting Farm is
home to many friendly animals which
enjoy being stroked too.
At regular stations around the farm
are places to wash hands. This
encourages your child to build up a
healthy and hygienic routine for
interacting safely with the animals.
White Elm Petting Farm has many
interesting willow weaved sculptures
perfect for small curious minds to
explore; there are chairs to sit on or
arches to go under, excellent play
environments for any young child.
If your child is still full of energy after
exploring the wonders of the petting
farm, there is a soft play area with a
café indoors and a play area with sit
on diggers outdoors. The play areas
give the opportunity for your child to
develop their physical skills by
discovering the different equipment
to use. The diggers are perfect for
role playing and pretending to be a
farmer. Both of these play areas are
included in the entrance price to the
farm. You could take this opportunity
to purchase a cup of tea from the
café and relax a little!
White Elm Petting Farm has a few
offers including a loyalty card and
annual pass which makes visiting the
farm very good value for money.
As you can see from the photographs
we had lots of fun meeting the
friendly animals at White Elm
Petting Farm and creating the animal
sounds together. We will definitely
be back in the near future to explore,
play and learn some more.
