LOCHABER committee member and stalwart supporter,
First team, U-17 and a number of veteran
former players the ‘Fort Legends’ met each
other in turn on the pitch. Showing that
experience rather than age still counts, the
Legends maintained exceptional fortitude in
the not so usual Claggan Park heat, showing
the youngsters a few tricks with the ball as
they battled the other sides in turn.
There were also fun and games off the field
with a bouncy castle to keep youngsters
entertained, fund raising stalls and
representatives of both families invited to
watch the action.
Just a few days later Claggan Park was home to
a bumper crowd the size of which had not been
seen for many a year, when the first team took
on Kinlochleven-based South Lochaber Thistle.
The evening derby was the first to be played
between the two teams, with SLT coming out
ahead with a 2-1 win, both being cheered
equally by the spectators as players on each
side picked up some valuable experience and
practice for the new season.
