
76th Anniversary
Fiddlers’ Rally Concert
Oban & Lorne Strathspey & Reel Society are
getting ready for their 76th consecutive Fiddlers’
Rally Concert which will take place on Saturday
April 25. On stage, for the concert, there will
be visiting players from across the length and
breadth of the country; mainly fi ddle players and
accordionists. The Society was founded in 1944
by Charlie Hunter, a well known Oban musician.
It’s current conductor is Helen Jordan who is also
well known in the town.
Arthur Cormack OBE, from Skye, and Ingrid
Henderson, based in Lochaber, will be this year’s
guest artistes. Arthur Cormack is a Mòd Gold
Medallist and is well known as both a Gaelic singer
and musician from Portree, Isle of Skye, while
Ingrid Henderson, a former pupil of the Plockton
music school will be accompanying Arthur..
The concert will be held in the Corran Halls on
Saturday April 25 and will start at 7.30pm. Tickets
are now on sale from the Corran Halls.
