The lighthouse men wave goodbye as they set off to
spend Christmas at the remote Hyskeir Lighthouse, off
Rum.
Pictured receiving gifts on her retirement is Taynuilt lollipop
lady Mrs Jean Gillies, who has served the community
for 21 years. Also pictured are pupils of Taynuilt Primary
School, who presented Mrs Gillies with gifts, including a
bouquet of fl owers. Chief Inspector Alex Clark and Police
Constable Alex Gray presented Mrs Gillies with a plaque
from Strathclyde Police.
Pupils of Lochgilphead Primary School visited the Oban
Times works recently.
This group of mothers and toddlers were just some of the
people who were present at the opening of the Soroba
Young Family Group’s new premises in Scalpay Terrace,
Oban.
