Tiree
Tiree, home to the famous Wave Classic and famous
Music Festival – pulling in thousands of people each
year, even though it is one of the most remote of the
Hebridean islands. Tiree is the most westerly island in
the Inner Hebrides, with a a population of around 650.
Crofting, tourism and fi shing are the main sources of
employment for the islanders. Tiree, along with Colonsay,
enjoys long hours of sunshine during the late spring
and early summer compared to the rest of the UK. There
is a reason it is called the Hawaii of the North – it's
warm, balmy climate, stunning coastlines and warm,
friendly people. Tiree can be reached by air or by sea.
