July gardening tips
WEST COAST REVIEW | 37
After the most glorious end to
May and start of June,
you should be enjoying
your garden
space more than
ever. You will know
what works and
what doesn’t. Most
of us will be treating
this space as an extra
room to relax and
unwind in, a sanctuary
from everyday busy life.
All your hard work over the
winter and early spring should be
paying off now. Your garden will be coming
into its own, showing off spectacular blooms
and fl ourishing to enhance the borders, bed
and hard landscaping. Remember to water
grass and plants regularly to keep them at their
best. Deadheading plants will encourage new
growth. Mowing grass will be up to a once
weekly cut by now and if possible twice weekly
will keep everything neat. Although during long
dry spells you will not have to cut as
often while growth slows down.
Adding a summer feed to
your lawn is best at this
time, especially if you
didn’t apply a spring
feed.
It is never too late
to take up some new
features or changes.
We are being asked
more frequently now to
design and build outdoor
kitchen/barbecue areas, patio
seating areas and now hot tub
gazebo structures. With this in mind, we
have recently opened a new hot tub showroom
to provide a whole range of hot tubs suitable
for any budget and taste. We are able to work
with you from purchase right through to installation.
We can also design and construct an
area within your garden to accommodate your
purchase. Please come along and visit us at
our showroom for more information.
